This policy sets out how we collect, use, and protect your personal data—whether in store, online, or over the phone. By using our website or engaging with our retail, repair, or servicing teams, you consent to the practices outlined below.

Data Controller

Parkgate Mobility is the Data Controller. We decide how and why your personal data is processed and ensure that it is handled lawfully, securely, and transparently in line with UK data protection legislation.

  • Purchase and service history

This information is recorded securely in our business systems to fulfil orders, manage services, and communicate with you as needed.

VAT Exemption
If you claim VAT exemption, we are required by HMRC to collect limited additional information, including:
  • Your signature (on paper, not stored digitally)
  • A brief declaration of your disability or medical condition

If you do not wish to provide this, VAT will be charged.

Third Parties
We do not share your data with other companies without your explicit consent, unless legally required.
However, if you:
  • Hold a lease agreement with Motability Operations Ltd and Parkgate Mobility is your repair agent
  • Have an insurance or warranty policy with Mark Bates Ltd (Premier Care) purchased through us

…we may need to share relevant data to manage repairs or policy matters.

Telephone Calls

We may record telephone calls for training and monitoring purposes. These recordings are stored securely and help improve customer service and resolve issues effectively.  If you’ve purchased a mobility scooter, wheelchair, or stairlift, we may contact you around the anniversary of your purchase to offer servicing. You’ll always have the choice to opt in or out of such follow-up. For longstanding customers, we will confirm your consent under GDPR during our next contact.

Contacting Us Online

When you reach out via our website or email, your information is delivered securely to our Head Office and may be forwarded internally to the relevant department. We don’t share this data externally unless required by law. Emails are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry.

Online Orders

For online purchases, we collect your name, address, email, and phone number to process your order and provide updates. Payment is handled by Sagepay, a secure UK-based provider. We do not store your payment details.  You may also receive an optional review request from Trustpilot a few weeks after your purchase. Refer to their privacy policy for more details.

Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies to monitor visitor behaviour and improve user experience. These do not identify you personally. We also use Google Analytics to collect anonymised traffic data. No advertising cookies are used once you leave our site.
